We arrived at Lainston House Hotel to celebrate our 61st Aniversary and immediately received a friendly, helpful and sociable welcome. We are in our 80's and forgot to order a ground floor room which they quickly found for us. Room was superb with air conditioning, modern en suite, free wi-fi and lots of side extras. We even recieved a Happy Anniversary card together with a small box of chocolates left in our room that evening. The food was delicious and service excellent. All staff were courtious and offered their assistance at all times. The cost of our stay, especially drinks was high but was more than compensated by the such wonderful staff service,

We had the most wonderful experience on our recent visit to Lainston House. As a birthday treat my friends had booked The Avenue restaurant. What an incredible meal we had. Every course was meticulously prepared and presented to us. The staff in the restaurant and Hotel were truly welcoming and helpful. They are a delightful team of professionals who really do care and look after you so well. We enjoyed our stay so much and we will return.

Had afternoon tea there this week. What a treat. It was absolutely amazing. The food and service were outstanding. Great location, even better outside in the summer. So will definitely be back. Thank you, Lainston.

Our second visit to Lainston House hotel and The Avenue. On arrival we were shown to our room by Gerry who made us feel very welcome. The room had everything we needed and more. The bed was comfortable, large and with beautiful linens. The tea and coffee was of good quality with mugs of a good size. The bathroom was luxurious with a spa bath, large shower and double sink. The breakfast menu has a good selection and I was able to order just what I wanted. The service was excellent, friendly and warm. We ordered room service which arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. We also ordered a bottle of champagne which was in room at the time I requested. We booked the tasting menu at The Avenue which was outstanding. Every dish was a journey for the taste buds. Each dish was full of favour and presented like a piece of art. From arrival to departure the hotel made our stay special and I cannot wait to come again

We were travelling down to Winchester for the weekend and made a last minute booking for the Saturday night in the Heritage Suite. Everything exceeded expectations. The room was absolutely beautiful and very spacious. Vintage decor and elegant. The bed was comfortable which is a rare find! There was a desk/office space as well as a small lounge area with comfortable chairs. The bathroom was large with a stand alone bath and double sink, as well as a separate walk in shower. We dined at The Wellhouse onsite - a very nice restaurant with a relaxed/cosy atmosphere. The food was delicious and caring for dietary requirements was not a problem. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was a real treat and worth paying that little bit more. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again in the summer months to explore the gardens and acres of grounds.

We've stayed at Lainston House twice now. The first time was in the Spring of 2024 where the weather permitted us to wine/dine outside and enjoy the grounds. Our latest stay was to visit the Christmas Markets in Winchester. Lainston House is beautiful inside and out. The staff are warm and gracious and make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. We met the GM, Steve Lewis, and immediately understood where the warmth of the hotel comes from. He’s a true gentleman and his personality and respect are reflected in his staff. The room we stayed in, the Dragonfly, was very spacious with ample room to spread out. The bathroom was enormous with a free-standing tub, double sinks, and a roomy walk-in shower. At 6’4” (1.93) I really appreciated the space. The restaurants: The Well house is very comfortable, and they offer cooking classes there. We splurged on the Avenue’s tasting menu. The chef, Tom Hamblet, was the 2023 winner of MasterChef UK. The tasting menu was absolutely brilliant. Overall, Lainston House is a wonderful place to stay. I highly recommend it.

Lainston House is a wonderful retreat in a beautiful, peaceful location, perfectly situated away from the hustle and bustle of London. The room was spacious and very comfortable, and the bathroom was equally generous in size, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent, with great quality and variety, and it was always a pleasure to start the day there. One of the highlights of staying at Lainston House is the opportunity to take a relaxing walk around the hotel’s grounds, which are truly lovely and add to the sense of calm and escape.

We had the most relaxing and enjoyable 2 days at Lainston House. The staff were exceptional as was the beautiful house itself. The food was exquisite and it reason enough to return. Our group was aged 11 to 80 and we were all made to feel very special.
